Sketch 3.7
We’re thrilled to release Sketch 3.7. This important update for Sketch introduces an all new version of Symbols. We’ve put a lot of work on making the right improvements to Symbols and have shared the story behind it as well as a quick video tutorial in our blog post.
In addition, we’ve made improvements to SVG export, scripting panel, Make Grid sheet, vector handling and much much more. We know opening a file with fonts you didn't have was frustrating, and thus we now have made it possible to preserve the missing fonts until you edit a layer directly. Check out the full list of updates here.
We look forward to hearing what you think about the new Symbols and beyond. Don’t hesitate to reach out to us.
We hope you enjoy Sketch 3.7!

#SketchHackday
This past weekend our own Ale Muñoz and Sam Deane joined forces with members of the plugin community for a successful #SketchHackday event in Hamburg! It was two-days of hacking and collaborating on exciting integrations (check out this video to see for yourself).
Congratulations to the team of Sketch Runner for winning first prize and helping designers speed up their workflow with their hack. Open Color Tools launched their private beta during the event, which helps create and manage meaningful color palletes. Another great extension built during the event is Copy 2 All. An applause to all who participated 🎉
A huge thank you to Precious Design Studio, NumberFour, and to the judges, facilitators and attendees for making #SketchHackday a success.

Creating Patterns In Sketch
In this tutorial, Aaron Tenbuuren, teaches us the basics of creating geometric and repeating patterns. By using a bit of math he also gives us tips on how to create an overlapping pattern. By following the tips, you can create a seamless fill in any type of shape. Try and create one, it's fun! We'd love to see your design - you can share it as a comment to the article 🌟
